Photography has been my passion since I was a kid, sparked by a simple point & shoot camera my father gave me when I was just 11. Little did I know that this small gift would ignite a fire within me, turning my hobby into a lifelong love affair and eventually a full-fledged profession.
I honed my skills by studying graphic design and diving into the captivating world of black and white photography. At the age of 16, I even transformed my bedroom into a mini darkroom, where I experimented with various darkroom techniques and let my creativity run wild. After graduating, I embarked on an exciting adventure working for different advertising agencies in Kuala Lumpur. However, when the financial crisis hit Malaysia in 1997, I fearlessly embraced the challenge and took on freelancing assignments from a modest studio. It was here that I merged my graphic design expertise with my passion for photography, working on a diverse range of projects that showcased the versatility of my skills.
In 2007, I seized an incredible opportunity and made the move to Singapore to join Apixels Production Haus, a prestigious commercial studio. This experience allowed me to build an impressive portfolio that encompasses a wide range of projects, including corporate executive shoots for annual reports, capturing breathtaking interior architectures of top hotels across Asia, and showcasing delicious food photography for leading fast food brands.
In 2017, I embarked on a new adventure as the Lead Photographer and Curator at PIXERF, an online visual community and marketplace. It's an amazing platform where talented photographers can license their stunning Asia-centric shots and earn extra income. My dedication and expertise in the field led me to become a PIXERF Ambassador, a role I'm truly proud of.
My extensive training in design, advertising, and commercial studio work has shaped my approach to photography. I strive to capture images that align perfectly with agencies' visions, have strong marketability for brands, and are visually appetising for the masses. I'm thrilled to embark on new projects and collaborations, pushing the boundaries of my craft and creating captivating visuals that leave a lasting impression.
